We are those who must adapt to the ways of the Earth, we are the ones that must live within the bounds that Nature places on life. If we are to survive, we must first shed the belief that we are somehow responsible for earthquakes, hurricanes and other natural disasters. We are not, we did not bring any such punishment upon ourselves, other than to foolishly believe that we were supreme, that we were the conquerors of Nature, that the Earth would bow to our will. By building cities within the vicinity of tectonic plate faults, we showed temerity in our neglect of the physical laws of tectonic plate movements over the hot magma of the Earth. By living in zones that constantly are buffeted with hurricanes and extreme weather conditions, we are placing ourselves in danger, Nature is not out to punish us. There are laws of Nature that we must respect, and there are the gifts of Life that we must cherish.	Ecological Aspects / A Transparent Way to Measure GHG Fri, 18 Dec 2009 The most efficient way to verify the amount of Green House Gases (GHG) that a country produces is by remote measurements from satellites in orbit. Each nation that wishes to verity it’s own GHG emissions, or those of any other, must either launch their own satellite, or subscribe to the service of a GHG satellite. Transparency can be best reached by publishing the satellites’ findings on the Internet, along with the current goals and projected measurements, in a global l GIS surface map. Verification would involve a one time only satellite inspection by weather scientists and satellite technicians to verify the payload of any GHG satellite before it is launched. The satellites must be of Open Design and made available to all signatories of the Copenhagen treaty. Calibration must be agreed to in advance, using known ground based sensor data.
Economic Aspects / Zorbas Solution to Deficit Spending Sun, 24 Jan 2010 When a government spends over and above it's income, it is creating a deficit in its operational costs, not a deficit in it's investment expenditures. When an investment becomes operational, it must sustain itself with cash flow from its normal operating budget. Investments on the other hand, need not be sustainable until they become operational. If an airport is built costing $1B EU, the capital spent on it's construction is an investment that will be paid off when it becomes operational, not before.
