THE CURRENCY CRISIS

By Dean

T his World of contrasts is rushing ahead to economic chaos unless we remain calm and take bold steps to correct the fundamental imbalance which we inherited from a World of separate nation states with limited interdependence.

The currency exchange crisis is harming both rich and poor nations and peoples. Business can no longer plan for the future: speculation rules. Some so called rich nations are priced out of their own success by the over valuation of their currency. The developing nations are in a turmoil of speculation and austerity, some suffering from insane cost/price spirals and others from IMF sanctioned austerity measures that make their citizens paupers amid a wealth of natural resources and industrial development.

Clearly, it is time to unify the currency of the World into a new model, one in which the participating nations conform to strict IMF sanctioned budget deficit constraints in return for removing the specter of speculation from their currencies and folding them into a new World monetary unit.

All of the World's currencies are denominated in one way or another to the value of the US dollar. Yet this is not a relation of value but one of speculation. If a currency is to be brought on board the new system, it needs to be loaded by value, not by amount. The true value of an economy in terms of the new World's money needs to be established in a manner which is uniform to all nations, not to do so would be to ignore the instant communicability of commerce and to persist in isolationist practices.

We need to find a list of products which are renewable or manufacturable. The list will only include products which are protected against inflation by the new World monetary system. Such a list will gradually provide a World standard of living which is uniformly programmed. Items out of the our capability to replicate would naturally be exempt, such as art objects, jewelry, and gold. Giving money a way to ground itself will be very useful in combating inflation in the future.

The natural course of evolution is from isolated primitivism to programmatic symbiosis. We will achieve Peace and Prosperity. It is time to act boldly.
